IDOS_ARTS will mainly promote research activities and possibly, in a second phase, depending on the possibilities, education-related activities:
- sharing of research results (Open Science) through a community platform on the web;
- production of digital content, management and accessibility of digital resources (Open Data / Open Access);
- availability, accessibility, interoperability and reusability of data (FAIR);
- usability and accessibility of data and resources for all users;
- developing new means of creating, curating and transnational integration of data and their historical-artistic contextualization;
- use of Artificial Intelligence (e.g. machine learning) and semantic associations to explore new forms of the revitalization of cultural heritage, leaving the purely documentary dimension;
- designing new common and shared methodologies;
- use of shared conceptual models for better data interoperability in the performing and visual arts domain;
- developing extensions to existing representational standards such as Schema.org and Wikidata so that performing and search engines and other web applications can better understand Performing and Visual Arts information;
- cultural assets collections digitization and metadata according to international standards;
- electronic archiving of artistic literature sources;
- philology of the Performing and Visual Arts Cultural Heritage fruition (for example, dark vision experience, immersion, lighting);
- use of shared conceptual models (semantic web technologies) for better interoperability of data and information in the performing and visual arts domain (e.g. digital cataloguing and metadata research);
- the development and use of semantic vocabularies and common representational frameworks to ensure the meaningful sharing and aggregation of information related to the performing and visual arts at an international level;
- design and implementation of systems for the enhancement of Performing and Visual Arts Cultural Heritage, for scientific communication, the construction of knowledge and learning activities based on online Cultural Heritage also through exhibition initiatives and projects (Display Cultural Heritage);
- creation of the Register of European theatres and archives through data census and cataloguing;
- virtual reconstructions of places and events and works of art and architecture that no longer exist through augmented reality and the use of document ecosystems;
- creation of the connection with the performing and visual arts digital archives of public and private institutions;
- partnerships with research centres at local, national and international levels that share the aims and participate in European and international research projects;
- participation in projects on European and national calls relating to the reference areas of activity;
- creation of the community platform;
- Seminars, workshops, symposiums, forums, conferences, and congresses are cadenced as needed;
- Promote doctoral co-tutorship activities and welcome doctoral students in the IDOS_ARTS;
- Master II level (courses or seminars);
- Promote scientific publications;
- Promote initiatives to support Researchers;
- Promote, support and organize highly qualified educational activities such as courses or seminars;
- Perform consulting and research in favour of Organizations, Institutions and Firms.
