SEM (Scènes Européennes Marivaux) studies the presence of the theatre in Marivaux on different foreign stages, from the 18th to the 21st century. SEM allows a cross-reference and comparative reading, according to the chronological or linguistic and cultural axis of these multiple creations, or proposes to consult all editions and staging, any linguistic and cultural area combined, of the same original Marivaud. The structure of SEM follows the FRBR protocol (work/ expression/ manifestation/ item). Thus, the main entry (work) is given by the French title of the original by Marivaux, with the indication of the date of the first creation. The different linguistic and cultural areas constitute sub-collections (corresponding to the level of expressions), within which we find the creations (level: ‘manifestations’) whose documentation can be consulted (level: ‘item’): the texts (especially for translations and adaptations in foreign languages), but also all documents, including visual and audio-visual, testifying to the process of creation, then creation and post-creation (for example press review) of the shows concerned.
